Wellness hotel in Paris: come and take care of yourself
The summer holidays are coming up, and this will be the opportunity to get away from everyday life. The B55, our wellness hotel in Paris, has thought of everything: come and take care of yourself in a wellness hotel.
In these post-confinement periods, everyone is in great need of a change of scenery and a change of air.
Recharge your batteries in Paris: the places not to be missed
The capital can offer a number of peaceful places to recharge your batteries. Discover a calm and soothing Paris, a green and unmissable Paris; these Parisian places are little known and offer you a guaranteed moment of serenity.
The “Campagne à Paris”, a green stroll awaits you
If you are in the mood for the countryside in Paris, go to this little village in the centre of the city. Located in the 20th arrondissement, a few steps from the Porte de Bagnolet metro station (line 3), this perched district offers a pretty setting.
This islet gathers several picturesque lanes, authentic and very charming pavilions, numerous staircases, beautiful small gardens with flowers. The cobblestones are omnipresent and trainers are recommended. To get to this pretty area, head for rue Pierre Mouillard, rue Paul Strauss, rue Jules Siegfried, rue Irénée Blanc or rue du Capitaine Ferber, which closes off the district.
The Coulée Verte, a unique and green place
The Coulée Verte, also known as the Promenade Plantée, is a lovely walk in eastern Paris. The promenade is established over 4.5 kilometres, in the centre of the 12th arrondissement. It was inaugurated in 1993 and guarantees a bucolic change of scene.
In 1859, this promenade was a railway line linking Bastille to the eastern suburbs. Over the years, two Parisians, an architect and a landscape architect, had the idea of transforming this old line into a natural promenade. The path is now completely pedestrianised and you can see several gardens, including the Reuilly garden and the suspension bridge, which is characteristic of the area.
La Butte aux Cailles, an authentic little village in Paris
Here is another relaxing place, just a stone’s throw from our hotel in Paris: the Butte aux Cailles. Just a few metres from the Place d’Italie, in the 13th arrondissement, this neighbourhood maintains a village feel and is rather popular, yet quiet. Walkers like to stroll here, gourmets like to eat here, and festive people like to have a drink here.
This neighbourhood has several small houses, cobbled streets, beautiful artistic frescos, shops, bars and restaurants. Go to rue de la Butte aux Cailles, rue Alphand, rue des cinq Diamants or the passage Barrault, known for its street art.
The Butte Montmartre, the mythical Parisian district
Montmartre is the Parisian district not to be missed. It is very famous, not necessarily quiet, but beyond the main axes around the Basilica, the district is full of charming, pleasant and rejuvenating alleys. Located in the 18th arrondissement, the district is easily accessible by metro line 12 and the Abbesses station.
This beautiful district includes the rue Lepic and the café of the two mills of Amélie Poulain, the sublime passage Lepic, the Moulin de la Galette in the hamlet of the Artists, at the top of the rue Lepic, but also the rue de l’Abreuvoir and its superb Maison Rose located at the intersection of the rue des Saules and the rue Cortot. The Montmartre stroll can end at Cité Véron, a small historic alley with charming houses decorated with wisteria and ivy.
Bercy Village, a special, sunny spot
Another relaxing and rather green corner is Bercy Village, also called Cour Saint-Émilion. Located in the 12th arrondissement, this place is quite well known to Parisians. It gathers small houses, 45 former wine storehouses now transformed into shops, bars and restaurants. Its central alley is paved and very pleasant for walking.
A park is also available for walkers: the Bercy park is one of the most beautiful in the capital, located between the Court and the Accor Hotel Arena. The area is only 20 minutes from the hotel B55 by metro: line 6 (Glacière stop) and line 14 (Bercy stop).
