From our hotel to the catacombs

We want you to feel like a parisian, seeking for a nice walk and fresh air in a summer day. Discover the Parisian way of life !

Of course, before initiating this summer walk, nothing prevents you from asking our staff if you are afraid of finding your way or simply if you need advice.

Step 1 : Montsouris

On leaving the hotel, join the Avenue Reille. You will then quickly follow the remarkable Montsouris Park. This is a lovely and very exotic park, one of the most beautiful of the city, take some time to enjoy it ! Take the opportunity to make a cool break and eventually spend a relaxing time in front of the lake.

Step 2 : Catacombs

The second step of this walking tour in Paris takes you to the Catacombs of Paris. You will find the entrance is on the Place Denfert-Rochereau. With a constant temperature around 14°C, this place is a great opportunity to freshen up during hot summer days. In addition to the practical information of the official website of the municipal ossuary, other stories about it can be fun.

As an example, that a party was held there in May 1777! And that the limestone of the catacombs was mobilized for the construction of Notre-Dame that we talked about so much a few month ago.

Walking tour in Paris through the latin quarter

Step 3 : The Latin Quarter

The second part of the walk from our hotel in Paris 13th get you closer to the Seine. You will start by crossing the Paris Garden of the Observatory.

Then, you can go up to the Panthéon, not forgetting to pass by the front of the Val-de-Grâce church. Restored since 2015 thanks to the application of poultices, this monument remains fascinating no matter where you can admire it from. A Gothic structured-building, it is Byzantine as well because of its domes, and also ancient Greek styled by the construction.

A stone’s throw away from there, you can find the Tea Tree Cinnamon. There, you can enjoy a drink with irresistible flavors accompanied by an appetizing sweetness.

Step 4 : The Great Mosque

If you like the oriental atmosphere of the place, try the Great Mosque. It is the oldest mosque in metropolitan France! This place of worship is able to accommodate up to 1,000 people.

In the garden of the Great Mosque garden reigns a sweet atmosphere from an ancient time. Take the time to smell the fragrant of wisterias, myrtles and rose bushes…

Step 5 : The Alpine Garden

The journey that we suggest ends in the very relaxing alpine garden of the Jardin des Plantes. A real botanical laboratory that gives a good overview of the mountain flora and helps refresh this corner of the capital. It is a very lovely and quiet place, happily not very famous, and very fresh ! They had to create a real microclimate in order for the plants to survive, so it is really enjoyable in summer.

If you enjoyed this walk, maybe next time you can try and go to the lovely buttes chaumont or the vibrating park de la Villette ! Do not hesitate to ask the reception team for more details about it… And have a great stay in Paris with the B55 hotel !
